Hello. My name is Nayeon Kim but I usually go by Jenny. I am from South Korea. I received a B.S Degree in mathematics specialization in biology at UC Irvine. I have participated in Mathematical and Computational Biology for Undergraduate (MCBU) research program twice at UCI. I did research with professor Jun Allard about the tandem binding of T cell receptor in immune system. In my first year of research, we showed that simple binding leads to a trade-off between deactivation time and the bound fraction, whereas tandem binding overcomes this trade-off by simple ODE. In second year, we verified the ODE system with new program called SpringSaLad. These days, I am interested in cell biology, structural biology and HIV. My interests outside of research are exercising, playing darts and listening to music.
